Did you know that almost 10 regulations are finalized on a daily basis? This data was published by the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) in its analysis of the top small business issues for 2016. Onerous regulations was one of the issues identified.

NFIB reports that there are 3,297 federal regulations in the process of being developed, hundreds of which will impact small businesses. For businesses with less than 50 employees, the cost of regulations per employee is actually 29% higher than for those of larger companies.

With that many regulations in the pipeline, it is important for the success of your company that you are well-informed on the current regulatory requirements of your industry. Not only does it prevent costly violations that damage your company’s reputation, it can actually be a brand builder.

According to Pitney Bowes, new and changing regulations offer companies the chance to reevaluate, redesign, and renegotiate. Companies that prepare aggressively for these regulatory changes, and then communicate with customers that they are staying up to date and in compliance, demonstrate reliability and transparency.
